On  September 25th 2017 the Cleveland City Council adopted a resolution supporting the continuation of the federal program known as DACA – Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals – which protects some minor immigrants from immediate deportation. Council’s resolution denounces anti-immigrant legislation that promotes racial profiling, discrimination and harassing immigrant communities. And it opposes the withholding of federal funding as a way to pressure local municipalities to enforce federal immigration policies.
