CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 34-year-old Cleveland man used Craigslist to rob a man.

Shawn Williams will be sentenced Monday for two armed robberies.

He posted an ad on Craigslist, offering to sell a television, PlayStation and games for $1,000. A 21-year-old Warrensville Heights man called Williams and met him Jan. 1 at the corner of East 79th Street and Cedar Avenue. Williams and another man pulled up, pointed guns at him and took his $1,000.

March 2, Williams approached a 28-year-old Cleveland man outside the Rent-A-Center on East 110th Street. He offered to sell the victim a television and PlayStation. They drove to East 79th Street and Cedar Avenue, where Williams pulled out a gun and robbed him of $250.

Williams, of East 30th Street, has a lengthy criminal record including armed robbery in 1998. If Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Eileen Gallagher finds him to be a repeat violent offender, he could be sentenced to an additional 10 years for each offense, prosecutor’s spokesman Ryan Miday said.
