Now that Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy and Q-Tip’s The Renaissance are out, the last of the mythical “forthcoming” albums is Dr. Dre’s Detox, an album promised for a 2009 release. Dre had promised the album would be out in 2008, but then he got caught up working on Eminem’s long-coming comeback album, Relapse.
The album has been in gestation for so long at this point (nine years) that there’s no telling what will or won’t end up on the album, but it’s sure to be chock full of west coast trunk thumpers.
