CLEVELAND (June 23, 2010) – It’s a Michael Jackson Weekend at The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and Museum this Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 25th through June26th. The Rock Hall will pay tribute to the icon all weekend long!
Michael Joseph Jackson was an icon the majority of his life. I remember the first ‘smash’ hit of the Jackson Five ‘I Want You Back’. We put together a mean hand dance routine to that song. If I told you what grade I was in ‘I would have to kill you’…LOL! At that point it was destined for Michael Jackson to become an iconic pop superstar for decades!
Michael Jackson’s solo career took off like a bullet with ‘Off The Wall.’ He was such a cutie…Michael was the conversation piece of all of the women in the neighborhood. With ‘Thriller’ Michael set many new precedents in choreography, music videos and mega, international pop star status for an African American! ‘The King of Pop!’
It was nearly a year ago today that the entire world was stunned at the news of his death! It was a year ago today that the Greater Clevelanders came out to celebrate the life an music of The King Of Pop at the Rock Hall!
This years festivities include rare induction footage special screenings, curator forums for the Michael Jackson exhibit, dance demonstrations with contest and prize giveaways, a Michael Jackson dance party hosted by WZAK and finally the culmination of the tribute weekend with the ‘Rock and Soul Festival’ featuring Angie Stone, Jason Malachi and a many more acts for a totally entertaining weekend!
